A Little Face Lift

Remember back when I painted my bathroom? Well... I didn't stop there. Over the months we've decided to basically re-do the upstairs, minus the bedrooms.
I LOVE the backsplash. Tim did the tile all my his big boy self. And the cabinets aren't red like they are in these pics... they're brown. Totally brown. Don't know why they appear to be red here.
I also am deeply in love with my living room. It's my new happy place. This photo, my very favorite of us by the way, is blown up to 16 x 24, which I thought would be just dandy above the piano. But the wall is bigger than I thought, especially painted green. I've got to add something above it, next to/around it. Suggestions? I found these snazzy little vases at Taipan. This shelf has NEVER had anything on it in the 5 years we've lived here. Finally it can feel like a part of the house. And I love it too. Of course, since the camera was out and all... The part of our house I love the most.

Ooh, so very jealous! I yearn to redo our kitchen and front room, but the kitchen has to wait for major renovation (new cabinetry that isn't older than me, and the relocation of pantries and appliances...) I love it when you can throw on a little paint and have a fresh new start. You did a great job, of coursea1

Very cute! I have been starting to really want some color in my house lately. And I am dying for a backsplash too.

Your family picture is so cute too. At Rod Works (my favorite place EVER!)(there's one in Draper or near Thanksgiving Point) they have wrought iron designs that you could put above your picture. Or there's always vinyl lettering... :)

Love the backsplash, it looks awesome. So what color are your cabinets? Did you stain them darker, or have they always been darker? Not red just darker brown then a golden oak? And yes I would suggest Vinyl lettering, or maybe a shelf, but lower the pictures.

This seriously looks amazing and I am sure it is more amazing in person. I think this calls for breakfast at your house. I'm in love with the living room myself and love the print on the bay window. Fabulous pick. Love your pic above the piano. I say two canvas squares, one on each side, 16x16. cover them in a matching scrapbook paper. Modge podge it up baby. You will love it and it will give that wall a little texture. Fabulous. I can envision it already.
